GI Blog Reflection

The SLR I mainly use in this blog is communicate effectively because we need to communicate ourselves to have more ideas and actions to end the poor peoples poverty.

Here are some of the things that we have done this trimester:
We have learned about the UN Millennium Development Goals.
We have planned, run and reflected on Peace Day.
We have invested money in the Angkor Wat marathon and we earned 2,500. Enough money for the people to buy medicine for 2 years.
We have played the simulation game Third World Farmer and we learned a lot about how some people in L.E.D.C's meet their basic needs and how they have fewer choices than us. Take a look at my reflection here. The SLRS I mainly use in this are communicate effectively, collaborate constructively, and living ethically because we collaborate and communicate together to come up with some ideas, donating money, getting ideas about an event, etc.

We also played another simulation game called Ayiti - Cost of Life. This taught me a lot about life in Haiti, and why the earthquake was so devastating there. Take a look at my reflection here (upload to the word here).

What did you think of the course?
I think that ISKL Global Issues class are taking a lot of actions to help the world, learning what is happening other countries, taking a lot of actions right now! And I am happy and grateful that Global Issues class are just taking chances to save the world to have Peace and Harmony.
What was the most amazing thing you learned? I thought about that people are living peacefully. But I was wrong, there was a disease called AIDS and HIV. These disease are the ones, that are making other poor people suffering. And I want to take action to stop the AIDS and HIV. How can I stop them? Not a problem! I can spread the word to all the people I know, and we could donate money to help them to buy medications. And I heard that, if they have money, they would have more medications last till 2 years, and it is really long. Not only the medications, they can use the money to buy proper dress to have job, get money, and when you have money, you could use it to go to school, and have education, and with more education, you have more money.
What do you think will be most useful to your in the future?
That the world we live in was living happiness with other people. NO WAR!
How was this course empowering to you?
The course is pushing me to rise, and taking actions to help people suffering, and to end their poverty.
If you had to sum up this course in one sentence what would it be?
We need to save the world and end the poverty of poor peoples.

What kind of a revolution is it referring to?
The United Nation in Girl Up, they take action to help the poor students who have less education, because education could save them.

What do you think about this article?
The article are very interesting and I am really am amazed, because they take actions to help pupils who have less education into better. And with education, they would learned more, and they can have better jobs to earn more money and with money, they will be rich and healthy. With education, it could also avoid disease like AIDS and HIV

Make comparisons between your life and the situation here for a 12 year old girl.

Do some research into GIRL UP - what are their aims, how could we be involved, what do you think about the idea?
My life, we ISKL are all rich with a lot of education. But, the girls are having less education, and we feel grateful, but upset about them. I wanted to save them all, but I don't think that I would have the confident to do it, because I am too young to help them. But when I am older, I might get the chance to help them!
I think the quote means that they don't have many problems saving girls, and it is a right things to save them. And it is a good idea to do it.
Their aim is to help the 12 year old girls who have less education, to help their education into better. So that they could live in an easier life. We could make an account to join them, and we could make comments to help them. We could also tell or post the event of what the United Nations doing to support them or to help them.
The idea about the United Nations are doing are really generous because, helping students of girls to have a better education could save everything, and I am suggesting that I would help the United Nation.

I like this video, because they didn't loose hope, they work hard to live, and to get more education, so that they could have a better life.

What Happen in Sudan?

What's going on in Sudan?

The Sudan people are fighting over that they would be together or separated. Because it all started that they found a big amount of oil, but found in south. So the southerners people receives the oil. So the northerners people got angry, then they started war on each other. But then, the south came back up with a solution. If they increase their independence and become their own country, then greedy hands can't take their property. And that's what's trying to be done just this week. Sudan is having a massive vote soon to decide if they become free, separate countries, or if they stay together.

Why should you care?

If the Sudan people gets their independence, they continuing stealing. And if they join together, I think the people might live fair, and happily.

What can you do?

I could write a message to President Obama that we could help the Sudan people to be in Peace. And we also need to multiply messages about Sudan.

3rd World Farmer in L.E.D.C's

The farmers in L.E.D.C's would be trapped in the Cycle of Poverty when they had a shortage of a food and water and shelter-thier basic needs. But if they would keep thinking about the basic needs, it would be possible that they would know how to pull the short-term.

First, they would start losing national productivity, economic decline, low personal income, no funds for school, lack of education and undertrained workforce or unemployment.

They are trying to stop develop to survive.

I think the SLR are collaborate constructively, and live ethically. Because working together would help, and live ethically is giving you confidents that you NEED to help your family.

I learned that farmers have been living terrible of their lives. I imagined how hard to live with a lot of problems, wars, weather problems, etc.

I think, we MUST save all the farmers who are stuck in Cycle of Poverty. So that they wouldn't face a terrible obstacles. It makes me think that I really want to save those people when I grown up, and make a group that will save the farmers.

3rd World Farmer

I learned that farmers are important because they plant vegetable, plants, flowers and etc. But there was a cycle that stopped them make them suffer. When they fall into that cycle, they can't possibly escape. But, if they work harder, they would have a chance to escape from it.

I feel that we MUST help the farmers, and prevent them to fall into the cycle of poverty. So that the farmers won't suffer and humans won't decreased. I also feel that I feel miserable because, we have a wealthy family, but not the farmers, and we didn't get caught by any troubles or disease.

Global Issues- World AIDS Day

(1)I felt really sad and grateful, because, I realized that every minute, 3 people who is living with AIDS die. And I am grateful that I have a wealthy family who takes care for me. And I can't stop thinking of people who are suffering with AIDS and HIV.(2) All the things that we did during the assembly has reflect me that we NEED, to save people who are living with AIDS and HIV.(3) We were confidently showed all the students that we NEED to save the people who are living with AIDS and HIV, and telling them what are AIDS and HIV.(4) I WILL remember to donate money everyday, and tell my other friends about it. And if I changed my school, I will remember to donate money on December 1st.(5) When the Global Issues came next year, we should brainstorm our ideas to them, and they could brainstorm to make it better.(6) I learned that people lives were suffering from a disease called AIDS and HIV. And it was horrible to learn that each minute, 3 people dies. And we learned that we NEED to STOP the AIDS and HIV!
